Cruising through the diverse landscapes of the U.S. was one wild ride. In the heart of New York City, I tried uduk rice (Indonesian meal), that tasted just like home! Celebrating a milestone of 25,000 kilometers since leaving Indonesia, the electric bike has proven its reliability, needing only new tires and brakes. In Philadelphia, I had an unexpected reunion with an old friend, whom I last seen 8 years ago! Washington D.C. was surprisingly fun. There, I had the incredible opportunity to share my journey with VOA Indonesia, voicing the experience of riding an electric motorcycle from Indonesia around the world, right in front of the iconic Capitol.I experienced my first snow on this journey in Mexico. Overcame the deserts, tropical rains, high places, and muddy roads, it got all the badges. As I reached the Grand Canyon and ventured through Death Valley, the quiet hum of my electric motor echoed against the vast landscapes, reminding me of the incredible adventure I was accomplishing. I spent the longest period staying in this continent. There was a major mess-up in temporarily importing my bike to the U.S., but thanks to helpful people at AWA (American Worldwide Agencies), I was able to get it out to Australia to continue my journey.Riding round the world using e-motorcycle is surely a challenge, especially on how to deal with the diverse customs procedures in each country along the way. Nevertheless, every mile of this journey was remarkable, from the bustling streets of New York City to the serene deserts of Arizona.
